Congratulations to Netra Phadke for Franklin College Staff Excellence Award

Our front office manager, Netra Phadke, is a recipient of the 2025 Franklin College Staff Excellence in Service Award!  This selective award honors staff members for their excellent performance and their outstanding contributions to units in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Nominees are evaluated and selected based on the following criteria: their excellence in fulfilling job requirements; their ability to demonstrate initiative and creativity towards improving the operation of their unit; their motivation to promote a positive morale in their workplace; and their dedication to improving the image and performance of their unit.

Netra was recognized at the Franklin College awards ceremony and reception, held at the Miller Learning Center on May 21, at which she received the $1,000 award and certificate of recognition. Dr. Craig Wiegert, Associate Department Head, presented her with the award.  In his remarks, he noted how Netra has become an integral member of the department over the past three years, assisting department faculty and students with myriad tasks while also serving as a first point of contact for the thousands of people who pass through the building each year.  Netra earned particular praise for coordinating multiple faculty searches during her time in the department, and for taking on the organization of the annual Center for Simulational Physics research workshop this spring after a sudden loss of CSP staff.
